Problem

Mainmark was re-engaged to re-level a Christchurch home originally lifted in 2018, after new insurance standards required homes to be within 50mm of level and a maximum slope of 10mm over 2m.The property had become uninsurable under the updated criteria, and the new owner engaged Mainmark to restore the home to insurable standards using precise, non-invasive ground engineering technology.

Although the property had been successfully lifted in 2018, the updated building and insurance standardsm meant it no longer met the required tolerances. The home’s floor levels exceeded the allowable range, leaving the new owner unable to obtain insurance or proceed with planned renovations.

Mainmark was asked to bring the house back within insurable limits quickly, safely, and without invasive foundation replacement.

Solution

Mainmark implemented a two-stage re-levelling approach using its proprietary JOG Computer- Controlled Grouting and Teretek® resin injection technologies.

The JOG system was applied around the perimeter and across the internal slab to gently lift and precisely re-level the home. Once the target levels were achieved, Teretek® resin was injected beneath the slab to improve the ground and re-support the foundation, ensuring long-term structural integrity.

All works were completed in just six days, with minimal disruption to the property or occupants.

Result

The home was successfully re-levelled to meet insurable standards, restoring compliance within the 50mm/10mm floor level tolerance.

The homeowner can now secure insurance, move forward with renovations and improvements, and have confidence knowing their property is back to level, compliant, and future-ready.

This project showcases Mainmark’s expertise in helping homeowners restore their homes to safe and insurable standards using precise, non-invasive and cost-effective ground engineering solutions.
