This fire station located in southern Canterbury had experienced subsidence from the weight of fire trucks driving over the slab for many years.
Background
The skirting (ramp from the driveway to the garage) had become detached from the garage slab, and the slab was moving when driven over by a fire truck. The station urgently needed a short term solution to stop this movement and get through their busy time of year.
Problem
The skirting, or ramp connecting the driveway to the fire station garage, was detached and moving whenever fire trucks drove over it. The client briefed Mainmark to provide a short term solution to support the skirting slab. This was a temporary mitigation during the busiest time of their year, allowing them to install a more long term solution later.

Solution
The team had the challenge of injecting the Teretek into a very small area, underneath a very light piece of concrete. It was crucial to find the balance of providing support without lifting the slab.
Mainmark used Teretek resin to fill the voiding beneath the slab. The expanding resin filled this gap with precision, providing the support needed to mitigate slab movement.
The Mainmark team carried out works swiftly and the slab was trafficable within a few hours, ensuring minimal disruption to the operations of the fire station.
Outcome
The client was satisfied with the result and the efficiency of the crew onsite. The quick work ensured the fire station crew could resume normal operation within hours.
